Finally, Content!

Hey, it's been a few days since my last update, so I figured I'd throw together a quick post.

The delay? A mix of work travel and personal travel—basically a lot of being on the move. Now that I'm back and settled (for now), I’ve had a chance to kick off a couple of new projects I’m excited about.

First up, I’ve started working on a small website for my linkshell on Horizon XI, which is a Final Fantasy XI private server. It's just a simple landing page for the guild, but it’s fun to build. I’m using Next.js with Vercel, and I’ve gotta say—it’s wild how quickly you can spin up a site with these tools now. Makes web dev feel way more accessible than it used to.

There are also a few minor tweaks I want to make to this blog, too. Nothing major, just some improvements here and there. Maybe I’ll tackle them in the next few days—unless the weekend eats up all my time (which it probably will).

I've also been organizing my "public profile" a bit—wrangling my various platforms (GitHub, LinkedIn, etc.) into one centralized place. Kind of like a digital hub of everything I’m working on.

That led me down the rabbit hole of messing around with Replit’s AI coding tools. I threw a couple bucks at it just to try it out for a few months, and it’s been surprisingly fun.

Right now, I’ve got two little side projects on there:

A web-based MMORPG (just for fun, mostly a playground)

A web-based math tutor/learning app (more practical)

The idea for the math app actually came to me during a six-hour drive. It’s been living in my head for a while, and I finally started putting it into motion.

I’ve also been diving into Godot lately (side note: voice-to-text really struggles with that one). I’m thinking of using it to make a visual novel. It feels like a good starter project—less animation-heavy than other game types, but still rich in story.

I’ve already got some early concepts sketched out in Obsidian (highly recommend it if you’re into structured note-taking—I'll drop a link below). The story is probably going to be a pretty classic isekai with a female protagonist, because hey, I like anime and those kinds of stories. Gotta start somewhere.

Oh! I’m also thinking about buying a domain soon. Once I settle on one, I’ll probably move this blog and all my projects over there, maybe with some subdomains for different things like Minecraft servers, Project Zomboid servers with the boys, and whatever else comes up.

Anyway, that was a bit of a ramble, but that’s where I’m at. Next time, I might talk a bit more about some of the cool stuff I’m doing for work.
