Saturday Morning Vibes

Saturday Morning Vibes

Alright, Saturday morning and feeling pretty good.

Since getting the blog submission system working, I haven’t actually posted a real blog yet — so this is it. The real deal.

I spent some time poking through my older projects, figuring out which ones I wanted to level up a bit. Lately, I’ve been leaning into AI code generation more, especially around UI revamps — that part's been super fun and exciting.

Yesterday and the day before, I actually dug into a project I hadn’t touched in over two years. It’s a simple timing tool I made for Final Fantasy XI — yeah, I still mess around with that game. Currently playing on Horizon XI, a private server set in the classic 2009-ish era of the game. It’s a bit silly, but I enjoy it. You can check it out here: 👉 https://italicninja.github.io/timer/

It’s hosted on GitHub Pages, and while I’m not 100% sure how the end-user experience plays out across all setups, it’s been working smoothly in dev and on deploy so far.

One thing I might try adding today or tomorrow is voice dictation directly into the blog post submission form. I’m using voice-to-text to write this entry, but I’m doing it in my code editor first before submitting it manually. Would be way nicer to have it built right into the form.

Speaking of which — you guys can’t actually see what the form looks like, so here’s a screenshot: Post

This is also a good test to see if the image upload is working. The idea is: it uploads to my backend and then gets pulled into the post. Fingers crossed that it actually works.

That’s pretty much it for now. Gonna finish my coffee, polish off some leftover pizza, and then dive into a little Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Later days!
